As part of AD ASTRA, we will develop several patient, public and expert involvement panels and form lasting partnerships to ensure our work is relevant to and comprehensively informed by lived experience. We will seek to involve:
1. Adults and children/young people (and their carers or support workers) with mental health or neurodevelopmental conditions who have experience of DAIs;
2. Clinicians (mental health/neurodevelopment and other specialities) with an interest in DAI research;
3. Providers of DAIs (e.g., charities and NHS organisations); and
4. Human-animal interaction researchers of various disciplines.
Panel members will be closely involved in developing the content of the DAI-specific guidelines, the interpretation of findings from sub studies, and the use of appropriate dissemination formats for patient and public audiences. There will also be potential to shape and be part of future research.
If you belong to one of the above mentioned groups and are interested in getting involved, please contact a member of the research team at: adastra-project@york.ac.uk and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
